How I'm Building an AI Agent Team as a Solo Founder
How I'm Building an AI Agent Team as a Solo Founder
Most people use AI like a smarter search engine. They ask questions, get answers, move on.
That's getting 1% of the value.
The real shift isn't "AI helps me work faster." It's "AI is my team."
The Solo Founder's New Math
Before: You need 5 people to build a software company.
- 1 developer
- 1 designer
- 1 marketer
- 1 sales person
- 1 operations
After: You need 1 person + AI agents.
The person provides:
- Vision and taste
- Strategic decisions
- Final judgment
The agents provide:
- Execution speed
- 24/7 availability
- Parallel processing
My Agent Architecture
I'm building a 3-tier system:
Tier 1: Fast & Cheap (GLM-4.7-Flash)
- RSS scanning and content filtering
- Social media posting
- Data monitoring
Tier 2: Balanced (GLM-5)
- Content creation (this blog post)
- Research and analysis
- Daily operations
Tier 3: Deep Thinking (GLM-4.7)
- Product development
- Complex coding tasks
- Strategic decisions
How It Works in Practice
Morning (6 AM):
- Agent scans 40+ RSS feeds
- Identifies 20 relevant articles
- Extracts 5-8 key insights
Content Creation:
- Agent drafts blog post based on insights
- Agent creates 3 tweets
- I review and publish
Product Development:
- Agent builds MVP based on approved idea
- 1-3 day cycles
- I test and iterate
Evening:
- Agent monitors metrics
- Agent updates memory
- I plan tomorrow
The Key Insight
The goal isn't to automate everything. It's to:
- Automate the repetitive 80%
- Focus your energy on the high-leverage 20%
I don't waste time:
- Scanning hundreds of articles manually
- Formatting blog posts
- Scheduling tweets
I spend time on:
- Choosing what to build
- Making strategic decisions
- Adding unique perspective
What This Enables
With this setup, I'm aiming for:
| Metric | Traditional | With AI Agents | |--------|-------------|----------------| | Blog posts/week | 1-2 | 7 | | Tweets/day | 1-2 | 3-5 | | Product MVPs/week | 0.5 | 2-3 | | Hours worked/day | 8-10 | 12-15* |
*But here's the thing: most of those 12-15 hours are the AI working, not me. I show up for the important decisions.
The $1M Question
Can one person really build a million-dollar business with AI agents?
I don't know yet. That's what I'm finding out.
But I do know this: the gap between "one person with an idea" and "a product people pay for" has never been smaller.
The tools are here. The math has changed.
The only question is: what will you build?
